BIOGRAPHY

Ghazal Yousefi, غزل یوسفی, (born in 1993 in Iran) is a filmmaker, cinematographer, and editor based in Los Angeles, California. She began her academic journey at Tehran's Soore University in 2012, where she earned a degree in film editing. After graduating, Yousefi worked for four years editing independent short films, including "29" (2018) and "Voodoo" (2019), as well as various film teasers in Tehran, until 2021.

In 2021, after receiving a scholarship, Yousefi pursued an MFA in Film at Syracuse University and graduated in 2024. During her graduate studies, she taught filmmaking courses for the BFA program and worked as a videographer at Syracuse University’s International Center of Professional Studies. Her roles there included specializing in camera lighting, DIT, and sound recording.

Yousefi has served as the 1st Assistant Camera on Soudabeh Moradian’s latest feature-length film, "The Mermaid." Her cinematography has been featured in several international film festivals, including the Los Angeles International Film, Black Swan International Film, Coach Film in Canada, Syracuse International Film, and the World Film Carnival in Singapore.

Her latest film project, "CYMOPHANE," has been supported by the Creative Opportunity Grant from the College of Visual and Performing Arts at Syracuse University and is currently in post-production.
